This is easy and a classic. You can use it for anything! 5 minutes of work, about 90 minutes waiting.
Don’t go to the shop to buy breading. It is expensive and treated with all sorts of things you do not want your kids to eat, I don’t think. If you make crumbs with the bread you bought (Or made yourself!), you get all kinds of different breading for your meals.
Just make sure that you do not throw away bread that is too old to enjoy for breakfast. Instead, cut it in cubes. Lay it out on baking sheet on a tray and put it in an fan oven at 80 Celcius and dry it out 90 minutes.
Then crush the cubes in a clean tea towel with any heavy utensil (a pan for example).Crush them to dust if you like it or keep it crumbly, whatever your preference is. Put it in a airtight container and keep it until you need it. I would not store it for too long, but the drying process should keep the crumbs from going bad for at least a week or two.
